Belleview first land owner was J.F. Pelot Sr. He Settled on farm land west of the current City Hall in Belleview. During the 1882, new development called Marion Land and Improvement Company, it was created to sell land around Lake Lillian. Lake Lillian had several name changes from Butlers Pond, Nine Mile Pond, and Roach’s Pond which it was name after settler King Roach, who own land around the lake.
